Derech Hashem <\/em>2:6:1<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In the course of His\ninteractions with the world 1<\/sup>, G-d arranged it so that phenomena\nthat affect both the things that humankind brings about 2<\/sup> and those that\nHe Himself brings about in creation 3<\/sup> should function like a\ngovernment. That\u2019s to say, with upper and lower courts along with all of their\nprocedures and rules 4<\/sup>. As our sages put it, \u201cThe kingdom of Heaven\nfunctions like a human kingdom\u201d 5<\/sup>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

He thus established\ndifferent \u201ccourt systems\u201d for the spiritual realm with rules and procedures 6<\/sup>,\nwhich work on various levels, feature certain spiritual entities 7<\/sup>,\n and follow particular sequences 8<\/sup>. And everything that\u2019s to be\njudged is to appear before those courts and is to be subject to its decisions 9<\/sup>.\nAs it\u2019s said, “By the decree of the\noverseers is the sentence decreed” (Daniel 4:14) 10<\/sup>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
