Ramchal lays out the raw details — as well as some other points of concern which we\u2019ll turn elsewhere for — in HaIlan<\/em> HaKodesh<\/em> (2:2-3). He says there that, \u201cTen vessels were first emitted (from Adam<\/em> Kadmon<\/em>) and then their lights. The lights descended to Keter<\/em>, Chochma<\/em>, and Binah<\/em> where they were (successfully) received, and then (they descended) to the seven lower (Sephirot<\/em>) where they weren\u2019t received. (As a consequence,) their vessels descended further downwards (to Atzilut<\/em>, etc.) while their lights ascended upward to their places (i.e., their sources)\u2026. These ten Sephirot<\/em> were (then) in a state where they were divided into \u2026 the four worlds of Atzilut<\/em>, Briah<\/em>, Yetzirah<\/em>, and Assiyah<\/em>, and it was out of the very last one that wrong emitted\u2026. (The latter seven Sephirot<\/em> were like) ten separate, un-combinable sparks \u2026.\u201d<\/p>\n

He adds some other raw details in Pitchei<\/em> Chochma<\/em> v\u2019Da\u2019at<\/em> (35). He indicates that the lower seven Sephirot<\/em> that emitted from Adam<\/em> Kadmon<\/em> \u201ccould neither accept or combine with\u201d the light that entered into them, and (instead) broke and fell to the end of Assiyah\u2026 <\/em>from which point the Sitra<\/em> Achra<\/em> (i.e., the \u201cother side\u201d) emerged\u201d; that they \u201cdidn\u2019t form the mystical configuration of a triad\u2026 (unlike) Keter<\/em>, Chochma<\/em>, and Binah<\/em> (which) did\u201d; and that it was their having formed that triad that \u201cenabled Chessed<\/em> (kindness) and Din<\/em> (judgment) to stand as polar opposites\u201d and for Rachamim<\/em> (mercy) to \u201cassume a place between them and to enable them to combine\u201d, which was not so in the case of the lower seven Sephirot<\/em>.<\/p>\n
