After introducing the creation of rah<\/em> in the world of Nikkudim<\/em>, Ramchal underscores the fact that a <\/strong>form of repair occurred <\/strong>there afterwards. Yet the repair was only partial and only to the degree that would allow <\/strong>human actions to bring on the sequence of flaw and repair to continue in the universe <\/strong>in the course of the 6,000 years of Divine service (which we\u2019ll discuss below). Nonetheless, in the end everything will be utterly repaired, as a consequence of which there\u2019ll no longer be any flaws <\/strong>(Petach <\/em>37).<\/p>\n

This addresses the idea we\u2019d cited before<\/a> about rah<\/em> being turned to good and thus playing a role in the revelation of God\u2019s Yichud<\/em>, His utter sovereignty. Ramchal expands on that in his comments to the Petachim<\/em> that comprise this section.<\/p>\n

As we offered elsewhere<\/a> though, Ramchal spoke about this in his comments to Petach<\/em> 27 where he said that \u201crah<\/em> can only exist when God\u2019s perfection is concealed, and as soon as His perfection is revealed, wrong ceases to exist\u2026. In order to (eventually) reveal His sovereignty in the clearest way, He (thus first) concealed it and instituted a way of imperfection so as to create and govern imperfect creatures\u201d; \u201cthe intention behind these deficiencies is \u2026 to make it possible for God\u2019s creatures to exist on different, relative (moral and spiritual) levels, and to draw closer to perfection gradually, level by level\u201d; and \u201cwith the concealment of perfection, God\u2019s governance itself hangs in the balance (as it must be decided) whether to confer goodness or its opposite, depending on humanity\u2019s deeds in the lower world\u201d.<\/p>\n
