Parenthetically, the arcane expression, \u201cthe Throne <\/b>that bears its bearers\u201d <\/b>used here alludes to the following statement in the Zohar (2, 242a): \u201cThe one who\u2019s on a high (spiritual) level (actually) bears the one (who seems to be) bearing him\u201d. The Zohar itself harkens to the analogous statement in the Talmud that \u201cthe ark of the covenant (actually) bore (what appeared to be) its bearers\u201d (Sotah<\/i> 35, see Joshua 4:18). The point of the matter is that \u201cErich<\/i> Anpin<\/i> (the higher level, actually) saves the other (lower) Partzufim<\/i> from harm (by \u2018bearing\u2019 them)\u201d so to speak, as Ramchal says in his comments here.<\/p>\n
