{"id":1760,"date":"2013-12-15T10:00:34","date_gmt":"2013-12-15T15:00:34","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/ramchal.wordpress.com\/?p=1760"},"modified":"2013-12-15T10:00:34","modified_gmt":"2013-12-15T15:00:34","slug":"free-will-and-the-partzufim","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/rabbiyaakovfeldman.aishdas.org\/ramchal\/2013\/12\/15\/free-will-and-the-partzufim\/","title":{"rendered":"Free will and the Partzufim"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Ramchal offers the following well known Kabbalistic principle in his comments to <i>Petach<\/i> 62 (our subject at hand) which is that, \u201cevery (supernal) level has a corresponding level in regard to human service\u201d. That\u2019s to say that everything that occurs in the human experience corresponds to and must occur in the supernal realms, and vice versa.<\/p>\n<p>As such, \u201csince humankind&#8217;s service is entirely based on free will, wherever there\u2019s free choice, there has to be the possibility of (both) damage and repair, (as well as) reward and punishment (in the supernal realm).\u201d<\/p>\n<p>And so we learn in this <i>Petach<\/i> that in order for there to be human free will and subsequent reward and punishment, the <i>Sephira<\/i> system was erected upon the foundations of <i>MaH<\/i> which allows for goodness and <i>Tikkun<\/i>, and <i>BaN<\/i> which allows for <i>rah<\/i> and its consequences, both of which need to exist together.<\/p>\n<p>Thus we\u2019re taught in the <i>Petach<\/i> itself that <b>all things having to do with defects &#8212; i.e. whatever allows for defilements and their subsequent penalties &#8212; are rooted in the <i>Sephirot<\/i> of <i>BaN<\/i>, whereas all things having to do with <i>Tikkun<\/i>, <\/b>which come <b>to repair these defects, are rooted in the <i>Sephirot<\/i> of <i>MaH<\/i>.<\/b><\/p>\n<p><b>But each level needs to be comprised of both <\/b><i>MaH<\/i> and <i>Ban<\/i><b> for the sake of the sort of governance needed<\/b>, i.e<b>.<\/b>, to allow for free will.<b> As a consequence, all elements of <i>rah<\/i> exist there under the auspices of <i>BaN<\/i>, while all elements of goodness exist there under the auspices of <i>MaH <\/i><\/b>[1]<b>.<\/b><\/p>\n<p><b>\u00a0<\/b><\/p>\n<p>Note:<\/p>\n<p>[1] Also see <i>Klallei Pitchei Chochma v\u2019Da\u2019at<\/i> 8.<\/p>\n<p><b>\u00a0<\/b><\/p>\n<p>(c) 2013 Rabbi Yaakov Feldman<\/p>\n<p>Feel free to contact me at <a href=\"mailto:feldman@torah.org\">feldman@torah.org<\/a><\/p>\n<p>&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;-<\/p>\n<p>AT LONG LAST!
