Petach<\/em> 81 expands on yet transcends the previous one and states that the <\/strong>aforementioned phenomenon of the conjunction of MaH<\/em> and BaN<\/em> <\/strong>— that functions in Attik<\/em> we mustn\u2019t forget — is truly the root of <\/strong>God\u2019s governance <\/strong>of the universe.<\/strong><\/p>\n

The Petach<\/em> will go on to say that there are two sorts of Divine governance: an open-and-aboveboard overt sort, and a behind-the-scenes covert one. Given that this section is entitled \u201cThe Source of (Divine) Covert<\/em> Governance\u201d, we\u2019ll obviously be concentrating on the latter.<\/p>\n

This covert type of governance plays itself out in the complex interactions of the arcane MaH<\/em> and BaN<\/em> elements of the Partzufim<\/em>, while the overt sort takes place within the Partzufim<\/em> themselves: in the governance found in Atzilut<\/em> (though it too is rooted in and\u00a0 ultimately \u201ctakes its orders from\u201d the covert governance). This touches on the apparent contradiction between foreknowledge and free will we spoke of above.<\/p>\n
