So we\u2019re told that this \u201croot\u201d <\/strong>— i.e., the root and essential interactions of MaH<\/em> and Ban<\/em> — cannot be revealed<\/strong> [1]. <\/strong>That\u2019s because it\u2019s rooted in God\u2019s \u201chidden agenda\u201d [2]. In fact, <\/strong>Divine governance is entirety dependent on its being concealed, for <\/strong>when it\u2019s concealed people engage in their affairs out of free will while God carries out His <\/strong>own hidden<\/em> agenda <\/strong>in the background which is based on His foreknowledge. As such, it\u2019s the concealment itself that allows for <\/strong>free actions which could be wrong and for eventual Tikkun<\/em><\/strong> and correction.<\/strong><\/p>\n

\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 <\/strong><\/p>\n

Accordingly, there is <\/strong>on one hand the <\/strong>overt order that God Himself displays that involves the order of Atzilut<\/em><\/strong> with its various Partzufim<\/em><\/strong> — Erich<\/em>, Abbah<\/em>, Imma<\/em>, Zeir<\/em> Anpin<\/em>, and Nukveh<\/em>, which are all rooted in free will, right and wrong and the like — while <\/strong>on the other hand there\u2019s the concealed root that\u2019s based on the fact that MaH<\/em> is conjoined with BaN<\/em>, which is covert <\/strong>and rooted in Divine foreknowledge [3].<\/strong><\/p>\n

\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n

We now have a deeper understanding of Ramchal\u2019s viewpoint on free will versus foreknowledge. It comes to this: we do indeed have free will, yet given that nothing can thwart God\u2019s will, our free will is often \u201cbedside the point\u201d when it comes to God\u2019s ultimate wishes which are rooted in His foreknowledge and His own will.<\/p>\n
