He says at the beginning of his commentary to <em>Petach<\/em> 18 that \u201cthe whole purpose of the science of Kabbalah is to understand the specific root of each phenomenon\u201d. That\u2019s to say that thanks to Kabbalah we\u2019re able to trace everything back to God\u2019s own input, step by step, and that the Hebrew letters factor into all of that, too.<\/p>\n<p>It\u2019s important to point out that R\u2019 Yehudah HaLevi discussed the Hebrew letters in his well known <em>Kuzari<\/em> (see 4:25 especially) in the context of his analysis of <em>Sefer<\/em> <em>Yetzirah<\/em>, which we\u2019ll focus upon below.
