Here\u2019s how Ramchal explains it in Petach 29:<\/p>\n<p><strong>The <em>Sephirot<\/em> are what came forth from the mystical space that occurred at the time of the <em>Tzimtzum<\/em> <\/strong>as we pointed out. But there\u2019s another element here that can only be explained by the three-dimensionality of the \u201cline\u201d &#8212; the fact that <strong>within each <em>Sephira<\/em> lies an inner core that came about by the <\/strong>inner light of the <strong>line of the <em>Ein<\/em> <em>Sof<\/em> entering it.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong><\/strong>As Ramchal explained in his comments here, \u201cwhen the line entered into the trace, a brilliant light shone from the line \u2026 which is the soul of each (<em>Sephira\u2019s<\/em>) vessel\u201d. Thus each <em>Sephira<\/em> serves as \u201ca garb (i.e., an encasement) for the line\u201d. As such, \u201c<strong>the line shines within the inner core of each <em>Sephira<\/em> with the mystical implications of a soul <\/strong>to the <em>Sephira\u2019s<\/em> \u201cbody\u201d.
