Ramchal offers this warning in Iggerot Pitchei Chochma v\u2019Da\u2019at<\/em> 2 which we\u2019ll conclude this part with:<\/p>\n

\u201cAfter we come to know all the many teachings of R\u2019 Chaim Vital (Ari\u2019s redactor) we realize that we actually know nothing\u201d, given all the many bewildering and seemingly contradictory or unfinished technical details that Ramchal had laid-out just before this. At bottom, he offers, \u201call we\u2019ve done has been to accept them (at face value), and (to know) that we\u2019d need to remember them, to say \u2018thus and such (happened in the process)\u2019 and to not respond (i.e., to not question the details)\u201d.<\/p>\n

There\u2019s only one solution to rectify this condition, he goes on to say, and that is to at least make the system available. As such, \u201cgiven that it\u2019s surely impossible for one who doesn\u2019t understand (the system) in broad terms to understand its (very, very many) particulars,\u201d Ramchal proposes, \u201cI will \u2026 explain (Ari\u2019s system) in broad terms as best I can\u201d, which will lighten the burden for us all.<\/p>\n

We will follow that lead in this work, too, as we lay out the Kabbalistic system, so the reader won\u2019t be overwhelmed by one esoteric detail after another.<\/p>\n
