{"id":200,"date":"2012-02-07T14:19:35","date_gmt":"2012-02-07T14:19:35","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/ravashlag.wordpress.com\/?p=200"},"modified":"2012-02-07T14:19:35","modified_gmt":"2012-02-07T14:19:35","slug":"r-ashlags-introduction-to-the-zohar-ch-49","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/rabbiyaakovfeldman.aishdas.org\/ravashlag\/2012\/02\/07\/r-ashlags-introduction-to-the-zohar-ch-49\/","title":{"rendered":"R\u2019 Ashlag\u2019s \u201cIntroduction To The Zohar\u201d: Ch. 49"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>1.<\/p>\n<p>We\u2019re slowly approaching our end-point now with some final insights into just how we grow from harboring-souls to bestowing ones.<\/p>\n<p><strong>\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 \u00a0\u00a0 Then, once you earn this great light which is termed \u201c<em>Neshama<\/em>-Light\u201d, &#8230; &#8221;\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>That is, once a \u201cpoint from the light of holy-<em>Chaya<\/em>h\u201d referred to at the end of the last chapter, \u201cextends outwards\u201d and precipitates the appearance of a \u201cpartzuf of <em>Neshama<\/em>\u201d&#8230;<\/p>\n<p><strong>\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 \u00a0\u00a0 &#8230; (which is) the <em>partzuf<\/em> in which each of the 613 organs radiates fully and separately like an independent <em>partzuf<\/em>, &#8230;<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>You then earn a human-like <em>partzuf<\/em> that has command over each of its elements, unlike a mineral one, which has no command over its elements, ostensibly; a vegetable one, which has only some; and an animal one, which has a decidedly larger amount of command over its elements but hardly as much as this human-like one.<\/p>\n<p><strong>\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 \u00a0\u00a0 &#8230; then the means to observe each mitzvah with its true intention is provided you. For each organ of the <em>partzuf<\/em> of <em>Neshama<\/em> uncovers the path of each mitzvah relevant to that organ.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>For once you achieve that state and your self is opened-up as never before, organ by organ, you\u2019d have advanced to the point where you can fulfill mitzvot for their own ends alone rather than for selfish designs.<\/p>\n<p><strong>\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 \u00a0\u00a0 And then, thanks to the great power of those lights, you\u2019re able to go on to purify the verbal aspect of your <em>ratzon l\u2019kabel<\/em> and to transform it into a willingness to bestow. And the point of <em>Chaya<\/em>h-Light which is engarbed in your 248 spiritual organs and 365 spiritual tendons is then able to bolster itself correspondingly.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>2.<\/p>\n<p><strong>\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 \u00a0\u00a0 Indeed, when the point of <em>Neshama<\/em>-Light becomes an entire <em>partzuf<\/em> (unto itself) it ascends upward and is engarbed in the <em>sephirah<\/em> of <em>Chochma<\/em> in the world of <em>Assiyah<\/em>, which is an unfathomably subtle vessel. It then extends a great and mighty light from the Infinite that\u2019s termed <em>Chaya<\/em>-Light (referred to above) or the \u201c<em>Neshama<\/em> of <em>Neshama<\/em>\u201d.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>As was explained in Ch. 41, there are five supernal lights which correspond to the five levels of the soul that are termed <em>Nephesh<\/em>, <em>Ruach<\/em>, <em>Neshama<\/em>, <em>Chaya<\/em>, and <em>Yechidah<\/em>. Ashlag has expanded upon <em>Nephesh<\/em>, <em>Ruach<\/em>, and <em>Neshama<\/em> so far. The &#8220;<em>Neshama<\/em> of <em>Neshama<\/em>&#8221; cited here corresponds to the <em>Chaya<\/em> which is the arcane root or \u201csoul\u201d of the more empirical, lower soul levels of <em>Nephesh<\/em>, <em>Ruach<\/em>, and <em>Neshama<\/em>. (We won\u2019t be referring to the <em>Chaya<\/em>\u2019s own \u201csoul\u201d, however, because as we also learned there, it\u2019s utterly beyond our ken.)<\/p>\n<p><strong>\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 \u00a0\u00a0 Then all the details of <em>Assiyah<\/em> &#8212; all its <em>mineral-ness<\/em>, vegetable-ness, and animal-ness\u00a0 that correspond to the <em>sephirah<\/em> of <em>Chochma<\/em> &#8212; help it take in the <em>Chochma <\/em>-light in full, along the lines we explained in regard to <em>Nephesh<\/em>-Light <\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 <\/strong>See Ch\u2019s 46-47.<\/p>\n<p><strong>\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 It\u2019s then also termed \u201cHoly Verbal-ness\u201d because it corresponds to the pure level of human verbal-ness.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>3.<\/p>\n<p><strong>\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 \u00a0\u00a0 The stature of that light vis-a-vis its Godliness is equal to that of (the level of) verbal-ness in physical mineral-ness, vegetable-ness, animal-ness , and verbal-ness. That means to say that it develops an awareness of others. <\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The ability to not only move about at random and at will but to likewise move out of one\u2019s own being, so to speak, and to thus be able empathize with others is what enables us to sense others\u2019 needs, and to bestow rather than just take-in.<\/p>\n<p><strong>\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 \u00a0\u00a0 As such, this light\u2019s level of spiritual <em>mineral-ness<\/em>, vegetable-ness, and animal-ness is on par with the material verbal-ness of material <em>mineral-ness<\/em>, vegetable-ness, and animal-ness.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 \u00a0\u00a0 The level of light of the Infinite engarbed in this <em>partzuf<\/em> is termed \u201c<em>Yechidah<\/em>-Light\u201d.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Let\u2019s now review how we\u2019ve progressed from <em>Nephesh<\/em>-Light to <em>Yechidah<\/em>-Light.<\/p>\n<p>We learned in Ch. 41 that, \u201cthe light of <em>Yechidah<\/em> shines in <em>Adam Kadmon<\/em>\u201d which is the highest realm, \u201cthe light of <em>Chaya<\/em> shines in <em>Atzilut<\/em>, the light of <em>Neshama<\/em> shines in <em>Briah<\/em>, the light of <em>Ruach<\/em> shines in <em>Yetzirah<\/em>, and the light of <em>Nephesh<\/em> shines in <em>Assiyah<\/em>\u201d, in descending order. Our task was to reverse that process and to ascend upward from <em>Nephesh<\/em>-Light.<\/p>\n<p><em>Nephesh<\/em>-light corresponds to the pure <em>mineral-ness<\/em> of the <em>ratzon l\u2019kabel<\/em>\u201d (Ch. 45). We\u2019re born with it. When \u201cwe struggle to observe Torah and Mitzvot with proper intentions\u201d we manage to acquire a degree of <em>Ruach<\/em>-Light and to go on to develop the <em>Neshama<\/em>-Light that\u2019s engarbed in it by \u201cengaging in the secrets of the Torah and in the reasons behind the mitzvot\u201d (Ch. 48).<\/p>\n<p>Then as we saw in section 2 above \u201cwhen the point of <em>Neshama<\/em>-Light becomes an entire <em>partzuf<\/em> it then ascends upward\u201d and \u201cextends a great and mighty light from the Infinite that\u2019s termed <em>Chaya<\/em>h-Light\u201d, which then leads to our developing a <em>Yechidah<\/em>-Light.<\/p>\n<p align=\"left\">(c) 2012 Rabbi Yaakov Feldman<\/p>\n<p>Feel free to contact me at <a href=\"mailto:feldman@torah.org\">feldman@torah.org<\/a><\/p>\n<div><\/div>\n<p align=\"left\">AT LONG LAST!
